Dr Yoke Ling FOO (MB BS London)

Yoke trained at King's College Hospital Medical School, London before migrating to Melbourne in October, 1988.

He then started work at Wantirna Medical Clinic in November, 1988.

Loves General Practice and working at WMC - hence has been here for 32 years!

Special interests: Diabetes & Heart disease.

Languages: Understands Cantonese, Malay/Indonesian and some Mandarin

Hobbies: Food, travel, Mahjong, Chelsea Football Club and K-Drama thanks to Covid and Lockdowns!

Dr Cai Xi XU (FRACGP)

Has been working at Wantirna Medical for over 15 years.

Special Interest: Runs a skin cancer and ‘lumps and bumps’ procedure clinic on Wednesday afternoons.

*Consulting: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and alternate Sundays.

Procedure clinic: Wednesday

Dr Timothy MA (MB BS, B.Pharm(Hons), FRACGP)

Dr. Ma graduated from the University of Queensland in 2014 and spent time working in emergency and intensive care at Monash Health before joining our team in 2019.

His special interests include:

- Chronic health conditions including diabetes and cardiovascular disease

- Preventative health

- Men's health

- Obesity and weight loss

- Iron infusions

- Minor surgical procedures including skin cancer removal and Implanon insertion

Outside of general practice, you can find him on the local golf courses.

Associate Doctors

Associate Doctors are independent practitioners co-located in our clinic and responsible for their own conduct.

Each doctor may have different procedures for bookings and billings, and how they manage their patient base. 

Dr Patricia AMAYA (MB BS)

Dr Amaya is a well respected general practitioner amongst her colleagues and patients in the Knox area.

She is interested in preventive care, mental health, women’s health, men’s health, travel and family medicine. She also has experience in trauma and emergency medicine. Due to her exposure in emergency and urgent care she is happy to see patients’ with sports injuries. She also has a Diploma in Palliative care from Melbourne University, and had been managing patients with chronic conditions for many years.

Dr Amaya is fluent in Russian and Spanish languages.

Dr Surangi (Su) GUNARATNE (MB BS, BMedSc, DCH, FRACGP)

Su is a VR GP who commenced at Wantirna Medical Clinic in 2013.

Languages: Sinhalese

Special Interests: Prevention, Children's Health, Women's Health, Refugee Health, Travel Medicine

Hobbies: Reading, long walks, Piano, Spending time with her 2 children.

Dr Caitlin HARRISON (MB BS (Hons), FRACGP, DRANZCOG, DCH)

Special interests: in Children’s and Women’s Health, Public Health and Teaching.

Dr Karen LEE (MB BS, FRACGP)

Has been working at Wantirna Medical for over 25 years.

Dr Heather NELSON (MB BS, FRACGP)

Has worked as a GP at Wantirna Medical Clinic for over 25 years. She graduated from Monash University and has worked at Box Hill Hospital and the Royal Children's Hospital.

Special Interests: Shared Maternity Care with Box Hill Hospital, The Angliss and Monash Medical Centre.

In her spare time she enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.

Dr Diya SOMAN (MB BS)

Dr Diya Soman graduated from Deakin University. She has worked in a wide range of specialties through the Geelong Hospital including Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Mental health.

She is keen to provide holistic care to the community and has a special interest in youth mental health, women's health and preventative care.

In her spare time she enjoys swimming and walking her two dogs.

Dr Sao (Khemar) WADI (MB BS, FRACGP)

In-between having children and spending some time living overseas Khemar has worked at Wantirna Medical for approximately 10 years. She is passionate about Preventative Health, and has a special interest in caring for children and the elderly.

Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, and loves to travel and is a bit of a ‘foodie’.

Dr Safire Valentine (BA, BSc, MD, CertWH)

Safire graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2019. She then worked at Eastern Health in a variety of fields and completed her certificate in women’s health.

She enjoys working in all aspects of general practice including preventative care, women’s health and chronic disease management.

Outside of work, Safire enjoys gardening, and reading a good book with a cup of tea.

Dr Valentine is our current Registrar undertaking specialist GP training with the support of our senior doctors for 6 months. She is a fully qualified Doctor having worked previously in hospitals and other settings before choosing General Practice as her primary focus.
